You know... with all of this "musical revolution" talk going around I figured I would offer my opinion to the interwebz. Im not here to defend/bring down any of the aforementioned "shitty bands" but I just wanted to say that a "musical revolution" isn't going to come from us bands. No, we are not all going to form an angry mob, rise up and burn their tour busses to the ground. There is not going to be a war, it has to be a state of mind change from you; the fan, friend or casual listener.

Everything that bands do is for you. You are the life force for all of this, the tour busses, the semi trucks, strobe lights, pyrotechnics and even sometimes back-up dancers. All of it is for you, it's yours, so we (the bands) are not the gate keepers nor are we the enforcers of the rock and roll revolution 2009. That is the change that you need to bring, if you see something on the internet that has a bunch of TURDS in pink and bright green stripes and there all doing karate moves or some ridiculous thing to get your attention, don't give it to them, you know its just going lead you to something empty and contrived.

If you think you are going to their myspace page and playing the songs to hear how ridiculous it is, or looking at their pictures and sending them to your friends so you can talk smack on them on the internet, you are being just as proactive and helpful as a full fledged fan. SO DONT PAY ATTENTION TO IT. The amount of awful, tasteless and fake bands I've been exposed to on the internet TRUMPS the amount of great, original and substance driven bands. This is because it is so fun to point out the ridiculousness of it, and you hate it so much and it bothers you so much that you become an anti-fan, being just as helpful and important as a real fan. If you want to say 2009 was the year rock and roll was resurrected to something we could be proud of , and people stopped paying attention to the endless supply of chain gang garbage, they would go away. These bands have no true fans, they live in controversy, they live in our blogs like this, and when we stop paying attention, when the "war" is over we can go back to music that has substance, soul, and is fucking cool.

Im glad that people are finally coming out and saying there opinion, music was founded in the exchange of ideas, and that will only serve to retain some of the greatness that music once had. But now it's on you to go out and make it happen, you cant wait on it to fix it self. Music belongs to everyone TAKE IT BACK

So, it's safe to say that i've never done this in my life, nor has anybody else in the band. We've done it in different formats, but never on blog...that sounds so so so so gay!
But, our boys The Audition have uploaded their new song 'My Temperature's Rising' of their new album ' Self Titled Album'.
Now, there's a lot of shit out there, a lot of shit. This band are a band we toured with over a year ago now. Before that tour they were one of my favourite bands based purely on their music, now even more so because we all call them our friends. This new song is so so so good, as is the rest of the album.
If the only thing you do this weekend is take my advice, then you'd be doing something right, so get involved.
